Free books!

We now have a Book Crossing Zone in the Information Store!

1. Come in and pick up a free book from the Book Crossing zone (near the printers)
2. Take it home, read it, enjoy it
3. Log on to bookcrossing.com and enter the unique ID in the book
4. Say where you are going to leave the book for the next person to find it
5. Track your book's journey and see how far it travels!

To make this an ongoing success, we need donations....If you have books at home that you would like to donate to the book crossing zone, pop into the Information Store and ask for Amy - we will get them labelled and registered up for you.

“A book is not only a friend, it makes friends for you. When you have possessed a book with mind and spirit, you are enriched. But when you pass it on you are enriched threefold.”

Access the catalogue with your Smartphone

Have you noticed these popping up around the Information Store?

They are QR codes, you can point your Smartphone at them to find out information. This particular QR code takes you straight to the library catalogue, so you can search on the move, and go to the shelves with your results (and shelf numbers) on your phone.

What is a QR code?

A QR code (short for Quick Response) is a type of barcode, readable by QR barcode readers such as Smartphones.
The information encoded can be text, a web link, a text or other data.

How do I use a QR code?
