UEA cards - update

COMING TO THE INFORMATION STORE SOON……………….

The UEA cards for HE students are due to arrive at the Information Store at the end of October 2012.  They will be ready for collection on Monday 5th November 2012 from the Information Store issue desk.  You will need to bring your CCN college badge with you when collecting your card.

These cards will be for first year students who are doing a Foundation Degree Course or a full 3year Honours Degree course.  Students who have completed a Foundation Degree and have now moved onto an Honours Top-Up course will also receive new UEA cards.  Unfortunately, UEA cards are not available for students taking Access courses.

HE students who are in their 2^nd and 3^rd year (not Top-Up’s) who have not previously collected their UEA cards can still collect them from the issue desk.

UEA access fixed

 

A number of you have been having problems logging into the UEA e-resources, with an error message appearing about cookies.  This error now appears to have been fixed - please let us know if you continue to experience problems.

Problems accessing SportDiscus journals database?

We are currently experiencing problems with accessing the SportDiscus database, available via UEA.

If you need to access SportDiscus, follow this path:
> Blackboard
> Information Store
> UEA button
> Scroll down to UEA e-resources link
> Select Academic Search Elite
> Select "Choose databases", and change   database to SportDiscus.

Have you spotted the latest addition to the Information Store's Blackboard homepage?

We have added a UEA button to make it easier for our degree students to access their resources. It looks a bit like this:

Please note that more UEA campus cards and passwords arrived from UEA last night. If you are still waiting for yours, please come to the Information Store desk.

UEA passwords

If you are having problems getting your UEA password to work, please check that it does not include any "special characters", such as £$%*@!

Although the UEA SPOT system prompts you to include these, including them will stop your password from working. We recommend using a mix of uppercase, lowercase and digits.

E.g. Password1234

UEA are aware of the problem and hope to change the password help webpage.

UEA update - good news

All systems are now up and running again.

All UEA IT systems are currently down

UEA has currently lost all of it’s network (e-mails, phones, library management system, electronic resources).

This started yesterday and they are unsure when they will be back online. We will post again when we hear that the systems are back up and running.

You will not be able to renew/return books while the systems are down, please contact them if this means you accrue fines during this period and they will sort this out for you.
